As a regional program, EDP strives to create linkages across jurisdictions to enable all educators to network on professional development issues. In doing so, EDP is working to create regional linkages on a variety of levels:
Publications: Given the similarities in professional development and learning material needs across the region, EDP is supporting the development of a series of publications - some based on regional inputs and distribution - in multiple languages that will allow educators and educational leaders to develop a common vocabulary of change.
Regional Activities: EDP implements regional programming (e.g. conferences, training workshops, etc), supports local organizations to do the same, and in certain cases supports individuals to attend events and activities being implemented by other organizations. In doing so, EDP promotes the notion that educational change and reform are common experiences that can be enhanced through exchange.
Equality-Based Dialogue: As a starting point for further interaction, EDP has noted that dialogue and collaboration based on equality issues such as gender equality are a meaningful entry point for further regional networking.
